Atrinik is made from code, world data, media, and presentation material. One license does not automatically cover another part of the project.
Three different questions
Creation, credit, and license are not the same
“Human-led” describes creative direction and responsibility; it does not require every permitted editing tool to be manual, identify a sole creator, prove provenance, or replace the exact license attached to a file or collection.
Creation method
Generated visual and audio assets—including pixel art, graphics, animation, music, and sound effects—are not accepted as final game content. Clearly identified generated versions may be temporary design drop-ins pending suitable human-created replacements. A human content creator may use generative tools to help shape maps or develop quests, dialogue, and lore while directing and reviewing the result. Owner audits of the existing corpus are still in progress.
Attribution and provenance
Each work must retain its human creator or upstream project, source, transformations, and applicable notices. Crossfire, Daimonin, Atrinik contributors, and other creators keep their specific credit.
License
Permission comes from the exact license or grant for the work—not from its creation method or the license of nearby software. Known gaps remain visible and fail closed for new publication.

Repository notices and per-file records remain authoritative. These labels explain the project’s main boundaries.
MIT
Website
The source code for atrinik.org is MIT licensed. That license covers the website, not every game package or authored asset it describes.
The client, server, editor, libatrinik, and protocol software maintained together in atrinik/classic are GPL-2.0-or-later. Bundled maps, graphics, audio, fonts, and other authored assets can have their own exact terms.
The independently released Go and Rust replacement foundations are MIT licensed and use evidence-gated provenance. Independent implementation is the default where exact reuse is unproven. Exact, separable historical contribution can be MIT-relicensed at a destination only when a complete-history audit proves it fits one applicable approved historical grant's past-contribution and sole-authorship scope. Distinct contributions may cite different grants, but grants cannot be combined for joint or inseparable work. That never changes the GPL terms of the Classic source repository. The foundations remain separate from Classic and do not yet form a complete public download.
Maps, archetypes, quests, writing, graphics, audio, and other authored world content use mixed licenses. Follow the notice attached to the specific file or collection.
Four temporary atmospheric concept images were generated with OpenAI and are MIT-licensed presentation material. They are explicitly recorded and credited, are not game content or gameplay footage, and remain temporary design drop-ins until suitable human-created visuals are found or made.
These concrete records describe current attribution and provenance; open owner issues track policies and corpus audits that are not yet complete. This page does not copy ledgers that could drift.

Atrinik's static build emits no browser JavaScript, sets no application cookies, and includes no Atrinik-managed analytics, tracking, advertising, third-party embeds, account forms, or gameplay state. Cloudflare may inject bot/security JavaScript or a dashboard-managed Web Analytics beacon, set strictly necessary cookies, or serve a challenge with its own HTML, scripts, cookies, and CSP. The ordinary page's no-script CSP blocks injected scripts.
